Inspirational lecture on sustainable trade of the future

On Friday 25 September, the eXpression Pop-in in MVG was hosted by Magnus Ohlsson from We Hunt For Heads. Together with about 20 guests Magnus looked into the future, post corona and lectured on how we can control customer behaviour in the physical store and how we build strong brands and meet consumer needs.

We need to have a clear idea of our business model, a plan on how to communicate and, above all, we need retail cheer. Then we don't need to see more store deaths," says Magnus Ohlsson.

The day began by taking the pulse of Umeå and in dialogue with Annakarin Nyberg, programme manager for the business development programme eXpression Fututre Retail Lab, Martin Lindfors, centre manager at Visit Umeå, expressed that the crisis has forced development among many companies in the trade. These are planned changes that have now been accelerated. Lindfors also points out that those operators with strong physical and digital brands have held up relatively well.

The lecture, which was organised in cooperation with the destination company Visit Umeå, was aimed at companies in the retail sector and companies that are at the interface between the retail, visitor and experience industries. The aim was to reach a wide and far-reaching audience in an industry in great need of knowledge and experience sharing. At the time of writing, the broadcast has reached just over a thousand viewers.

Magnus Ohlsson from We Hunt For Heads has extensive experience from the retail industry, both as CEO, marketing and sales manager for well-known brands. The lecture was part of the public events taking place within the framework of the eXpression Future Retail Lab accelerator programme.
