Kaaos Kaamos gets 1.2 million for new show

The Umeå-based circus group Kaaos Kaamos has been granted approximately 1.2 million by the Nordic Cultural Contact and the Swedish Arts Council to develop a new modern performance. The goal is to start touring in Sweden and northern Finland from spring 2022.

We are extremely happy and proud of the opportunity to realize our vision of an interactive new circus experience in a modern circus tent. With this positive response, we now have both time and space to use the tricky time we find ourselves in to develop something innovative. The hope is to start the tour with the new show in spring 2022, says Erik Glas from Kaaos Kaamos.

In total, these are grants of almost SEK 1.2 million. The largest contribution comes from the Nordic Cultural Contact programme "Culture and Art Programme", which gives the circus society EUR 100,000. This is complemented by an additional SEK 150,000 from the Swedish Arts Council.
