RANDOM BASTARDS COLLABORATE WIDELY - RELEASE NEW MUSIC VIDEO AND MERCH INSPIRED BY SEOUL VOYAGE

At heart, Random Bastards are a bunch who love collaboration - which their latest release, the music video "The Skateboard Song", is a prime example. When Uthe mead collective had the opportunity to eXpressions internationalisation initiative go to Seoul last winter, the idea of to combine two great passions - skateboarding and music. Today the result at Youtube and of course a number of creators have contributed - including Alexander June Bulletin, John Sandin, Isak Lundberg and Marian Dembkiewicz. 

- I had the opportunity to invite a handful of skateboarders who have long been part of our creative collective Random Bastards on the trip to Seoul. We decided to make both a short skateboarding film and a music video, which in the process flowed together into a combination," says Erik Hörstedt, founder of the Random Bastards collective and Storspoven AB. 

A total of six people were on the trip, including the main filmmaker John Sandin and the photographer Isak Lundberg (who took the pictures in the article) - and many of the garments shown in the video are designed by Marian Dembkiewicz.  

- We finished a relatively clear version of the "Skateboard song" quite quickly, produced by PreGame from Åland and Alexander Juneblad from Umeå. The song became the starting point for the visual script of the main production released today, says Erik. 

The Umeå creators filmed and skateboarded every day in the gigantic city of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Through contacts with local skaters, shops and via Instagram, they found good places to skateboard and collected material for the video.  

- The trip was a success. In about nine days of skating and filming, we got a lot of good material together, everyone involved enjoyed themselves and was in good spirits. We had many interesting encounters with Korean people who were incredibly nice, friendly and helpful. It was magical to eat so many new and tasty dishes, see all the amazing nature and at the same time spread the word about our collective," concludes Erik. 

Seoul travellers were greatly inspired by the city's vernacular, design and architecture, which forms the basis of the merchandise released in conjunction with the music video. Further collaborations with South Korea will be developed.
