Until 31 October, you can nominate your favourite for the Umeågalan prize for cultural and creative company of the year, awarded by eXpression Umeå in cooperation with the Umeå Creative Industry Association.
The cultural and creative industries contribute strongly to the region's attractiveness and are leading the transformation towards a more sustainable society. Therefore, it feels particularly important to highlight companies that have distinguished themselves in various ways in the development of new innovative services, products or business models," says Barbro Renkel, CEO of eXpression Umeå, who also leads the jury.
Until 31 October, anyone can nominate their favourite for the award. You can nominate via the Umeågalan website. A jury will then select the winner, who will be announced during the Umeågalan.
The Cultural and Creative Business of the Year Award is designed to recognise companies that use cultural or other creative processes as a business idea or as their raw material. The award category is open to both new and established companies or networks of companies in the sectors.
In addition to the fact that the nominees must meet the basic criteria of the Umeågalan, the jury looks more closely at:
- how innovative the company's development is in terms of new products, services and/or business models.
- if the company's development strengthens Umeå's position as a strong place for cultural and creative industries.
- the extent to which the company contributes to the sustainable development of society, in terms of social and environmental factors.
