The programme is based on eXpression Umeå, with the aim of to create sustainable partnerships with creative companies and local manufacturers. The initiative in both Umeå and now Örnsköldsvik will eventually lead to a sustainable growth through cross-sector collaboration, good relationships and sustainable and increase internationalisation and exports in the creative cultural industries. and artistic industries. It is now clear that eXpression Design contributes with more sustainable businesses ready to enter the international market.

We have seen that the power of co-creation during product development is enormous. Solving problems and finding solutions together has been key for companies, both manufacturers and creators. The networks have broadened and the understanding of the respective processes has deepened. We believe in a good continuation of product development in the North! Says Johanna Forsberg, program manager eXpression Design Örnsköldsvik.

eXpression Design is a successful venture that is now not only in Umeå but has taken and into a cross county arena. The creative network High Coast Creative network in Örnsköldsvik has entered into an agreement with eXpression Umeå. and has thus enabled the programme for more creators to create cross-industry collaboration between creators and producers.

Programme started in December 2019 with prototyping in eXpressions 3D lab and softlab, networking, business development and lectures. On 28 August 2020, the 17 new locally produced products from the first batch and by autumn phase 2 continues with a focus on internationalisation, visibility and export. the programme continues, applications are open for new participants to apply to programme, with the deadline for the new round being 15 August 2020.

The programme provides a fantastic opportunity to better understand your design process and thus develop as a creator. In addition, it gives you the tools to strengthen your networking and visibility internationally," says Barbro Renkel, program manager eXpression Design Umeå.

Target of eXpression Design is to connect creators with local manufacturers, broadening networks and increasing the growth of the creative, cultural and artistic industries in Västerbotten.
