SUSTAINABLE NOMINATIONS FOR THE TRADE GALA

SUSTAINABLE NOMINATIONS FOR THE TRADE GALA

For the eighth consecutive year, it is time to pay tribute to those active in Umeå's trade. At the Trade Gala, which takes place on 1 February 2020, awards will be presented in eight categories during an evening filled with gala celebrations, networking, parties and entertainment. As many as five companies from the eXpression Future Retail Lab accelerator programme have been nominated.

We have gathered brave and driven entrepreneurs who are ready to experiment with new business models. The fact that five companies are represented among the nominees is fantastic but also important. They are role models, paving the way and inspiring at a time when we need to challenge our conventional wisdom about retail and urban development," says Annakarin Nyberg, programme manager of eXpression Future Retail Lab.

The five nominees are:

Bigaro

Unique shop with good selection, quality and know-how, a real gem.

Joel Moberg, Duå

Joel is the most dedicated salesman there is. He knows his stuff and is genuine every time. No rush but takes his time.

Pia Stylist & Concept

By bringing together strategically selected companies in smart collaborative models, Pia Stylist & Concept creates an offer with a personal combination of services in styling, hairdressing, makeup, style analysis, eyewear styling, sewing and personal shopping. The offer has now evolved to include circular clothing consumption, giving customers the opportunity to rent, lease, buy and sell their clothes - a continuous evolution of their personal concept.

H&H Butiq

With a green wardrobe in focus, H&H takes its place in both private customers, companies and public environments. With customer events, partnerships and high service, H&H Butiq today gives the entire region the opportunity to take advantage of the range on offer. The store has created its own centre in the periphery through its unique and targeted service concepts.

Childrenshouse.se

After identifying the importance of the hospitality industry for retailers, Childrenshouse.se took a new place with its pop-in shop in the Avion mall. On the basis of the in-depth analyses, it was thus able to meet touring families with children with a new offer tailored to the location and the target group. This initiative is an important complement to an existing shop and online sales channel and opens the way for a bolder step in an industry hard hit by the ongoing transformation of the sector.

Trade is one of Umeå's most important industries, employing over 6,000 people in more than 600 companies. It is to pay tribute to all of them that we make the Trade Gala! The Trade Gala is organised byUmeå Trade,Umeå municipality through Näringslivsservice,Visit Umeå ABandUmeå Folkets hus. The project has a steering group consisting of representatives from the organisers who draw up the overall guidelines for the work of Handelsgalan Umeå.
