Jessica Eriksson portrays dogs in the office

Photographing and painting dogs who spend their days in agencies and offices is Jessica Eriksson's pet project and has been recognised by both Design Week and Creative Boom.

Jessica Eriksson is the illustrator and Uminova eXpression alumna behind the company PersikaMy. The office dog project began with her own pug, Frasse, who was with both her and her partner at work and meetings all day. When he died, she started thinking about how many other dogs are also office dogs and have offices.

- I know what it does to the atmosphere to have a dog in the office. It becomes familiar, some people throw themselves on the floor to greet the dog, says Jessica Eriksson.

She runs Byråhundar together with Jenny Theolin, who photographs the dogs and interviews them and their owners. And Jessica Eriksson illustrates portraits based on that. In May there will be a big exhibition in Stockholm and hopefully she will have fifteen portraits ready by then.

Interest in the project has been huge, and they have received applications from all over Sweden. So after the screening, they hope the project will grow, both in Sweden and internationally. From the beginning, the agency dogs were something they did because they thought it was fun, a heart project to rest their brains from work. But now they hope it can start conversations to start seeing the dog as a friend and colleague. And it's been getting attention in many quarters.

How does it feel to have the project recognised internationally?

-It warms the heart! It's always nice when something I like so much is recognized, then it becomes on a personal level.
