M EN PLACE HELPS BUSINESSES IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY FIND THE RIGHT RECIPE FOR PROFITABILITY

Mise en Place is a French kitchen term that means "everything in place" and describes the preparations that are made to ensure that the restaurant's service flows smoothly. As a consultant in the hospitality industry, M en Place helps companies to get "everything in place" also in terms of concept and business development. Creator and founder Cecilia Sandström takes an operational perspective to create the conditions for efficient and profitable businesses with unique concepts.

I want to help companies in the hospitality industry to create interesting concepts that last over time and create the best possible conditions for profitability, both for the business and for the property owner. The aim is to choose projects with sustainability as a clear focus, both in terms of building technology but also in terms of concept and service," says Cecilia Sandström, founder of M en Place.

M en place AB offers strategic business development with a special focus on the hospitality industry and can contribute with analysis of trends, market, potential clientele and premises to ensure the right choice when developing new concepts. Starting from an operational perspective, M en Place
also the ability to contribute to business development both on the revenue side and on the cost side
in the income statement.

M en Place works with development across the business, from concept to operation, and knows what it takes to create a product that can generate good returns over time. The consultancy offers support to both new start-ups and existing businesses that need to review their profitability or are looking for
a fresh start.

The company has only been up and running for a short time but already has a number of interesting assignments. At the moment, M en Place is helping Granö Beckasin, among others, to expand and develop existing operations. The start-up company also has assignments for property owners in Umeå who wish to develop new business to lift premises that are currently empty. In the past, property owners worked more on the development of an individual property or building. Today, it is more about the development of an entire neighbourhood, as part of the municipality's community development. From this perspective, it is important to work conceptually from the outset, to ensure that the product fits into and enhances the whole of the site. M en Place can contribute with precisely this strategic perspective by getting involved early in the establishment process," says Cecilia Sandström.

 

Cecilia's tips for those with a business idea 

1. If it's something you're passionate about and believe in, go for it.

2. Check what support you can get, does any incubator fit?

3. Talk to a friend who runs a business today, ask for tips and advice.

4. Don't count hours. 

My aim is to create the best possible conditions for my client to succeed, I do this with my heart and I believe that I am well placed to succeed myself. You only live once and if you have an idea you believe in, there is really no choice.
