On 16-17 December, Björkvodka from björkarnas stad (Umeå) Spritmuseum in Stockholm. A vodka that has been praised by connoisseurs all over the country for its very special birch flavour.
- It's great to have a visit from the Norrland region, we welcome all new, exciting initiatives, especially when it comes to small-scale and locally produced products - and Björkvodka definitely falls into that category, says Madelaine Pettersson, concept developer at Spritmuseum. It's also incredibly tasty and delicious, so it will be great to present it to our visitors.
Umebon's Anna Morén came up with the idea of Birch Vodka from the City of Birches and launched the project during the pandemic, with the help of the Tevsjö distillery outside Järvsö. Made from organic rye from Tevsjö, birch leaves, birch sap and birch sugar, Björkvodka has a distinctive and strong birch flavour that stands out in its category.
- I'm really excited and happy to have the honour of making this fine visit to the capital! Björkvodka has received a fantastic response from the restaurateurs and restaurants I've met. It's great that the spirit of the North is getting into their hearts," says Anna Morén, the creator of Björkvodka.
On Saturday 17 December, starting at noon, Anna herself will visit the Sprit Museum in Stockholm to showcase her new product, but visitors can already enjoy Björkvodka from Friday.
In the autumn of 2022, the second batch of 100 bottles was released. They are available from the following retailers:
