eXpression Umeå is today the leading incubator in Sweden for the artistic, cultural and creative industries. Now they're stepping it up a notch. From 1 October 2020, Rivia Oliveira, one of Umeå's top communication and marketing experts, creative strategist and entrepreneur, will step in as acting communications manager at eXpression Umeå.

• The creative industries are growing rapidly in Umeå, today there are 90 companies in our business development processes and we are constantly scaling up our support and mission to enable creators to develop their sustainable businesses. We are part of a fantastic community of creators in the city and shoulder the role of lifting all these stories, says Marlene Johansson, CEO eXpression Umeå.
• We are facing an intense and eventful year with many planned events, new local, national and international partnerships, and not least the development of our digital platform and major internationalisation drive. With Rivia's background, power and energy, this year's communication efforts will reach entirely new levels," says Amanda Westin, communications manager eXpression Umeå.

Rivia Oliveira takes over the role of Communications Manager at eXpression Umeå while the regular Communications Manager Amanda Westin is on maternity leave. Rivia will have overall responsibility for eXpression's communications both externally and internally. Rivia Oliveira comes from the creative Umeå agency Johanna Wiklander where she had the role of creative strategist. Prior to that, she ran the Rivia Sports brand, which sold colourful and well-sewn workout clothes all over the world.

• There is a lot happening in Umeå, especially around eXpression and the creative industries. To be a part of it and promote these industries feels so cool. The skills and knowledge of the creatives in the incubator and the team at eXpression are really inspiring and I look forward to developing and growing together with them, says Rivia Oliveira.

Rivia Oliveira will take up the position from 1 October 2020.
