Creative Norrland
Strengthens creative businesses in northern Sweden through collaboration, innovation and business development - for vibrant and attractive communities.

Culture and creativity as drivers of sustainable development
Kreativa Norrland helps companies in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) and the Sami industries to grow and develop in northern Sweden.
As society transitions to become more sustainable, a major challenge is to create places where we thrive and want to live - both now and in the future. This is particularly important in Upper Norrland, a region that is growing rapidly. Culture plays a central role in this development and is a high priority in many cities and regions.
The cultural and creative industries have an important place in the transformation of society. There are around 130 000 companies in the sector, representing one tenth of all companies in Sweden. Together, they employ around 190 000 professionals and are considered one of the country's important basic industries. Many companies work internationally through exports and digital business models.
Most KKB companies are small, often micro-enterprises, and collaboration is an important part of their business model. They operate in areas such as film, fashion, music, games, design, performing arts and cultural heritage. They also collaborate with other industries, for example in product and place development. Collaboration and networking foster innovation, cohesion and resilience.
