Singer-songwriter Natalie Carrion is back with new music. On 26 September she will release the single Sunday - a song born out of a time of doubt and searching, where both vulnerability and strength are given space. The single marks the start of the next chapter in Natalie's journey and is followed by a new album that has grown out of a challenging period in her life. From her first steps as a street musician in Umeå, Natalie has now made her way to Nordic stages and is ready for the next step.

Natalie on the new single:

I wrote Sunday on a rainy autumn day when the peak I had been fighting for seemed far away. The world kept spinning, but I wondered, where is my place in that cycle?

Sunday was a reminder that it's okay not to always know the way - that even being lost is part of the journey. As my mum always conveyed: "You will find your place."

Background:

Natalie Carrion is a singer-songwriter with roots in Sápmi and the Caribbean. She has previously performed as an interlude in Melodifestivalen, Nationaldagen på Skansen and Musikhjälpen, and her music has been recognised both nationally and internationally.

Her latest single Satellite came second in the Swedish Radio music competition P4 Nästa, bubbled on Svensktoppen and was lifted by Spotify on New Music Friday. The South Sami song

Daelviejijje, performed in the Sámi Grand Prix, was hailed by NRK as "a sickly dynamic vocal from another galaxy - the best voice of the year."

Natalie's music combines Nordic atmosphere with warmth and personal storytelling.

To fund part of her upcoming album, Natalie took a more personal route: a crowdfunding campaign that became a creative movement. Here was born sustainable merch with a twist - hand-painted art prints and turned cups that she painted herself, locally roasted coffee and intimate living room gigs. It's a way of building music that feels both intimate and meaningful, far beyond the traditional, where fans are empowered to be there every step of the way. Just like they were when she started as a street musician.

"A mix of Highasakite and Veronica Maggio with a sparkling and dancing joik. Wonderful!" - NRK

"With a Billie Holiday-sounding voice, darting like a swallow through the summer evening, and a body language as sensitive as if she were plucking notes out of the air, Natalie Carrion manages to instil full-bodied feeling in her elegant pop songs, created at arm's length from the song genre. And with her simultaneously earthy and sophisticated demeanour, she more than lives up to Tage Daniels-son's poetic description of Monica Zetterlund - "a lingonberry rice put in a cocktail glass." - Anders Lundkvist, Kulturvinkeln.
