Three innovative companies from Umeå have recently received national attention by being included in the '103 Young Ideas 2024' list of the Swedish Business Federation. The list, which highlights promising entrepreneurs under the age of 35, includes entries that stand out for their society-enhancing and trend-setting ideas. All three companies are part of the eXpression Umeå incubator.
Party AB/DIT Own home
Founded by Karina and Casimir sweat lodge Winter, this company offers a solution to the housing shortage in northern Sweden. Their concept is based on do-it-yourself kits for house builders, using environmentally friendly, locally produced materials that can be easily assembled without specialised tools. With a clear inspiration from Ikea, they have developed a system that is both cost-effective and sustainable. In addition, they offer the possibility of professional help during the construction process, emphasising their slogan "do it together" (DIT).
It Is What It Is
Reuben Ångqvist is a versatile creative who is not only a classical pianist, but also a record label executive, art director, photographer, filmmaker and innovator. His work challenges norms in the music industry and includes producing music videos for major artists such as Zara Larsson. Through his involvement in the incubator, Ruben has continued to develop his cross-border projects- more is on the way!
Saplin AB
Mr Jacob Laggarian, with his company Saplin AB, is developing a platform specialising in AI voice technology for both small and large businesses. Jacob strives to lead an ethical AI industry, addressing shortcomings in brand protection and ethics within the emerging AI technology. His innovations aim to ensure a more responsible use of AI in society.
