On Monday 27 May, Design Week kicks off and the city is filled with exciting activities. In addition to exhibitions and events from the School of Design and Architecture, there will be a big pre-party and an interesting seminar with SVID. There's also Open Doors, where several creative collectives open their studios and shops to the public.
Pre-party - start the week with a bang!
Don't miss our pre-party on 27 May*, an evening of amazing guests, bubbly drinks and lots of mingling. From 8pm, Random Bastards will take over the DJ booth and release new merchandise on the spot. They will be assisted by DJ Maja, known from the garden. The bar will stay open until late in the evening.

Inspirational seminar with SVID
On 29 May, we invite you to an inspiring seminar in collaboration with the industry organisation SVID. The theme of the day is how to develop businesses through design. Take the chance to learn from the experts and network with like-minded people in the industry.

Open Doors - Visit creative collectives
During the week, several of Umeå's creative collectives open their doors to the public. Experience their working environments, inspiring works and participate in various happenings.
- Röbäck Glass and Clay: 29-31 May and 1 June. Open workshops for ceramics and glassblowing. Shop with designed items. Opening on 1 June with textile artist Isa Öhman. Location: Cultural dairy in Röbäck
- The trading centre: 27 May - 1 June. Premiere of exhibition space with artist Sofia Ytel aka Fia Print. Location: Sagagallerian, Umeå
- Limmo Design: 28 May and 1-2 June. Open shop and knitting happenings. Location: Bran, Vännäs municipality
- Kajsa Form: Design and interior products, with Kajsa's own designs. Location: Vännäs
