They have undergone intensive summer weeks of sketching and prototyping, working closely with regional producers and producing world-class products. Now, four designers from eXpression Umeå have been selected to showcase their products at one of the world's largest furniture and design fairs in Milan, Salone del Mobile.
From 8-14 April, Anneli Zetterström, Mira Bergh Edenborg, Marzieh Tangestani and Sebastian de Cabo will be taking part in the International Design Week in Milan. Together with other established designers, they will showcase their products at the Swedish exhibition HEMMA gone wild, the Swedish contribution to the Salone del Mobile furniture fair in Milan.
- It is an honour to participate in the Milan Design Week with my product "Asiab" among so many famous designers and manufacturers. To be able to see the latest products and trends from Sweden and around the world is fantastic," says Marzieh Tangestani.
The exhibition "HEMMA Gone Wild" is a continuation of last year's acclaimed staging of Swedish everyday environments and will be located at one of the most attractive addresses in the design district of Brera, in the centre of Milan.
- The fact that eXpression has been selected for HEMMA gone wild in Milan is a testament to the high quality of young designers here at the Arts Campus and in our region," says Barbro Renkel, senior business coach, eXpression Umeå.
In addition to eXpression Umeå's designers, Beckmans design school, the School of Design and Crafts and the winners of Young Swedish Form will showcase their products.
Milan Design Week is one of the world's largest meeting places for product news in interior design, with thousands of companies, brands and countries in attendance.
- The intensity and competition during Design Week is intense, and it's important to stand out and create something more than just a product exhibition. This year, we want Sweden's exhibition to balance the safe Swedish home with the challenges of the outside world," says Mats Widbom, CEO of Svensk Form.
The Instagram account @hemmagonewild will be the gathering place for everything that happens around the exhibition and will also be the official product catalogue.
eXpression is a constantly innovating incubator, a creative development environment where talents meet, collaborate, test their ideas and build sustainable businesses in the artistic, creative and cultural industries.
