eXpression Umeå is an academic business incubator that supports the development of ideas, innovations, service-based business ideas and knowledge-intensive companies in cultural, artistic and creative industries. Activities are conducted in Curiosum on the Arts Campus. It is a creative innovation environment including prototype workshops with high quality digital equipment for researchers, students and startups.
YOUR TASKS
As a business coach, your mission is to work operationally to identify the needs of the ideas of innovators and companies and to support the development process. This includes individual coaching, workshops and networking.
Our approach relies heavily on guiding and coaching the entrepreneur through our dynamic incubator process, where the expertise is in our industry network and you, the coach, are there all the way. You will also work on various events, trainings and other types of meetings together with your colleagues - to develop our incubator together.
We offer creative and stimulating work where you will meet many interesting entrepreneurs, industry experts and influencers.
DIN PROFILE

We expect you to have a good understanding of start-ups and entrepreneurship, preferably in the cultural, artistic and creative industries. You will have a keen interest in the industries represented within the KKN cluster and in particular the areas in our local area; design, architecture and the arts. You have a good ability to intertwine these sectors with other areas, creating the conditions for innovation and development to occur.
We expect you to have an understanding of vision, strategy and brand development and the ability to take on board knowledge of new markets, trends, product development and business models. You will have the ability to apply your experience and knowledge to support the entrepreneurs in the incubator. The creators and entrepreneurs participating in the incubator should be given good conditions to develop their self-leadership, resilience and confidence - in which you play an important role.
We are a small agile team that works closely together. This places high demands on collaboration and flexibility. As a person, you are perceived as a "doer" with a focus on seeing others succeed. You communicate openly with the team and are prestigious in your approach. Coaching comes naturally to you and you are energised by being helpful and accommodating, while also having a sense of when you need to be clear and demanding. Of course, you are self-driven and take initiative.
It is an advantage if you have a university degree and if you have experience in the academic innovation support system.
You should be able to express yourself fluently in Swedish and English in speech and writing.
