Kreativa Norrland showcases the region's breadth and creativity in central Umeå. On 3-5 June, the project returns with a pop-up in the Utopia neighbourhood, where visitors can meet companies from the region's cultural and creative industries.

"For me, who is at the beginning of entrepreneurship, Kreativa Norrland's pop-up is a fantastic opportunity to reach out more widely and meet new potential customers. And of course it's extra fun to do it together with others. Having a shop in the centre would not have been possible otherwise," says Gustav Frisk, founder of Musikdrömmen, which offers courses in music production

The event provides an insight into the diversity and creativity that characterises the city and region's business community.

In city centres, we see new trends and patterns of movement where cultural and creative activities play a key role - not least by creating vibrant environments, strengthening communities and contributing to increased security. This is particularly evident in Umeå, where these industries have long held a strong position. During these days, we are also putting extra focus on reuse and sustainability from several different perspectives," says the project manager Marlene Johansson from RISE.

The shop also displays the results of the spring activities within the Creative Norrland project, where businesses, creators and young co-creators have collaborated on design and innovation.

Discover an exhibition from a design sprint in Robertsfors, where waste materials from industry have been given new life in shapely objects, and take part in prototypes from five design workshops that explored how Umeå's public spaces can become more inclusive and safe - inspired by the New European Bauhaus.

The Kreativa Norrland pop-up is part of a project with the same name. The project is a collaboration between RISE, eXpression Umeå and Balticgruppen, with support from Umeå municipality, Region Västerbotten and the European Regional Development Fund.
