On Friday 6 December, an inspirational lecture and workshop on the future of sustainable trade was held in Östersund. In cooperation with Destination Östersund, eXpression Future Retail Lab i invited retailers and other stakeholders in urban development to a rich morning where they looked ahead together and highlighted the opportunities and challenges of the industry transformation for discussion.
In 2019, Östersund was named City Centre of the Year, which has made the importance of collaboration, continuous development of activities, networking and changing business models in the trade visible in Östersund.
Östersund is a very exciting city where collaboration, local production and major events are clear elements in the conversation about trade, city and destination development. And just like in other places where we have conducted these conversations, people express a need for skills development, says Annakarin Nyberg, programme manager at eXpression Future Retail Lab.

eXpression Future Retail Lab is an initiative together with the Swedish Retail Federation via the Köpmannaförbundet and is also part-financed by the EU Structural Funds. Right now a pilot round of the accelerator programme is being carried out in Umeå and application for a national intake has been opened up.
