On Tuesday 14 December, eXpression Umeå was visited by Jason LaTorre, Canada's new ambassador to Sweden. Maria Olofsson from Uminova Innovation attended the meeting, Åsa Fällman from Umeå municipality and representatives from the County Administrative Board. The aim was to talk about our respective activities and build relationships for the future.

It is of course an honour that the Ambassador chose to visit us. There are many similarities between our countries, so it is particularly interesting to deepen our relations. We hope that the visit will be the start of something new that can bring value to startups in our region," says Barbro Renkel, CEO of eXpression Umeå.

The new ambassador had been invited by the current Swedish ambassador in Ottawa, Urban Ahlin, to visit the northern parts of the country as soon as he arrived. The reason was crystal clear - northern Sweden is hot, not least when it comes to new innovations.

Jason LaTorre was particularly interested in business opportunities between Sweden and Canada and showed a keen interest in eXpression Umeå and Uminova Innovation.
