Innovation Bootcamp in Umeå is a free multi-day event that challenges participants to unleash their creativity and develop innovative business ideas with the help of experienced business developers from Umeå's innovation support system. For some, the days can be the start of an exciting entrepreneurial journey.
Event managers Evelinn Carlsson at the Innovation Office at Umeå University, is very pleased with this year's turnout.
After 24 hours, 21 unique and innovative ideas were submitted. "I am really impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the participants. They played a key role in shaping an innovative and exciting event," she said.

Most feasible idea
The prize was awarded to Simulation of fire in mixed reality created by Filip Lapveteläinen. The idea has several potential applications that can help improve safety.
Most sustainable idea
The prize was awarded to Happiness created by Suze van der Zwet and Nicole Hyslop. The idea is based on the need for green spaces at SLU Umeå to improve mental health, sustainability and work environment for students and staff.
Most creative idea
Expandable storage augmentation for drilling machines by Danjela Vladi and Abel Kebede. A new solution for underground storage using drilling machines that can have a positive effect on water extraction and environmental impact.
For Suze van der Zwet and Nicole Hyslop, the next step is already set.
We have a future meeting with the infrastructure board at SLU and if they approve our idea, we can start making Lyckan green," says Suze.
The Innovation Bootcamp is organised by Innovation Office at Umeå University in collaboration with several partners from Umeå's innovation support system, including A Working Lab, Uminova Innovation, SLU Holding, Young entrepreneurship, Venture Cup, eXpression Umeå, Co-companion, Greenhouse, Västerbotten Region and Almi.
