Laura and Erik Vidje are building their dream house in Kassjö just outside Umeå, an organic round bale house with low environmental impact. During the project, which has been running since 2014, they have learned a lot about organic house building, which laid the foundation for their joint company, which is now launching an online lecture for others who are going to build organically.
The environmental trend continues to grow strongly, with companies and individuals alike striving to reduce their environmental impact. Some who have taken note are Laura and Erik Vidje, who are truly passionate about sustainability and the circular economy. Now they are combining their passion for sustainability with entrepreneurship and the construction of the couple's new home.
Our dream house, which we are building ourselves just outside Umeå, is designed to have a low environmental impact and to use local healthy building materials, such as wood, clay and straw. We started planning the project in 2014, construction started in the summer of 2017 and we will move in during 2021 - for us it's about the journey and doing as much as we can ourselves, says Laura Vidje, Founder and CEO of ELVA Hållbara AB.
Along the way, Laura and Erik have documented the work well and the material has now been packaged into an online lecture that will help other people who want to build organically - something they themselves were happy to take part in before they started their project.
The online lecture describes everything from general ideas to the detailed solutions they have chosen in their construction and is therefore suitable for people who want to take on their own construction project, big or small.
Great interest in ecological construction
The online lecture on green building was launched earlier today 29 March 2021 and the company's online shop already has several paying customers for the lecture. The feedback from customers is unequivocally positive and really welcomes this type of lecture.
