Entrepreneur Saad Abdelaziz from Umeå has been nominated for the Newcomer of the Year award. This national award honours entrepreneurs who have contributed to Sweden's economy and society by creating new opportunities, generating growth and promoting sustainable development. Since 2000, H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf has been the patron of the award.

- It feels really fun and exciting. It is proof that there are many people who appreciate what I do. Of course, there's a lot of hard work behind it and it's great that it's being recognised," says Michael. Saad Abdelaziz about their nomination.

The Newcomer of the Year Award highlights and honours entrepreneurial role models with a foreign background in Sweden. The award aims to show that it is possible to succeed in Sweden, reduce the perception of exclusion and demonstrate the value these individuals contribute to society.

A national nomination committee will evaluate the candidates shortlisted from the five different regions - and Saad Abdelaziz is one of them.

The winner of the New Builder of the Year will be announced at a ceremony later this year at the Royal Palace by King Carl XVI Gustaf.

The company Wisalsson AB

The company was founded by the Abdelaziz brothers in Vännäs, Sweden. With a new business model and sustainable design, the startup wants to help gum chewers around the world to chew more responsibly. Wisalsson AB is part of the business incubator eXpression Umeå.
