Umeå artist Magda Andersson will release a new album on Friday 4 October.

The album is called "PM: Unleashed" and contains ten tracks.

"The songs on this album are about liberation from different kinds of shackles. I think a lot about what makes me feel restricted, and wanted to write about it because I think it's a common feeling. A couple of songs are about relationships that don't work very well - 'Charades' and 'Scrapes' for example. The first song on the album is called "Brain Ghosts", it's about learning to walk the paths you want to despite the voice in your head telling you that you're dreaming too loud. "One for all" has a sarcastic tone throughout and is basically about how girls are expected to be, I wrote it one day when I had crazy performance anxiety and needed an outlet. "Waggish Songs for Strong Girls" is made up entirely of positive affirmations to lift away distracting worry thoughts that come in the evenings. "The Pond" is about forgetting everything else and finding the sense of freedom in nature. My personal favourite song is probably "White Flag" - it's somewhat abstract but I think anyone living in Umeå will recognise the feeling of surrendering to the cold of winter (which in this case is also a metaphor for a love affair) that never seems to end, and the contrast that occurs when the asphalt comes out and the sun warms up again."

As part of the launch, Magda is doing a release tour with a full band. The tour schedule is; 4/10 Grand, Malmö

5/10 Porter Pelle, Gothenburg

11/10 PUB Tjyven, Sölvesborg

12/10 Clarion Hotel, Stockholm

16/10 Elektra, Umeå

"PM: Lossad" is recorded at Ballerina Audio in Umeå. Participating musicians are

Magda Andersson, Elona Planman, Jessica Nordström, Ina Molin, Emma Granlund, Stina Hake, Sunniva Abelli, Malin Silbo, Johanna Sandgren, Ida Boija, Sara Wallin, Anders Nyberg and Julia Öjbrandt. Produced by Magda Andersson and Nils Johansson. Illustrations by Miranda Persson and graphic design by Maja Meurling. The image on the front cover was taken by Frida Sömskar.
