Exploring design for wellbeing and health

Exploring design for wellbeing and health

On 20 February, participants in the new business development programme gathered for an inspiring kickoff at Scharinska Villan, Umeå. The programme, organised by eXpression Umeå and RISE, gives companies in the cultural and creative industries the opportunity to strengthen their business models through a series of workshops, lectures and expert support.

It will be very exciting to test how crafts and cultural crafts can contribute to sustainable urban development and to develop the crafts sector together with other industries. Local, sustainable, resilience, creativity and circularity are values that come with craftsmanship, but how do we link it to the transition to sustainable societies? Says Felix Wink, Hemslöjdskonsulent, Västerbottens läns hemslöjdsförening.

During the programme, participants will be supported in developing their business ideas and strengthening their businesses through coaching, lectures and practical workshops. The focus is on learning how to create inspiring environments and experiences that foster creativity and well-being.

This is an incredible team that we have the privilege to follow and support in the programme. The focus is on giving them new knowledge about how to create environments that promote health, creativity and inclusion. The goal is, of course, that they take these insights and put them into practice in their organisations - and thus contribute to positive social development," says Fanny Lindén, business coach at eXpression Umeå.

Themes such as planning for happiness and well-being, building with and for nature, and designing for all the senses will be explored throughout the programme. Through this, participants will gain both new knowledge and practical experience to strengthen their entrepreneurship.
