On 2 June, Summer eXpression kicked off - the summer programme for young creators and designers who want to take their design ideas to a finished product.
Over the coming weeks, participants will develop their projects, refine their business ideas and receive valuable coaching and expertise along the way.
We've been preparing for a long time, finalising the details and working closely with our partners. But it's not until the participants are in place that the real action starts. They are a great bunch of people with lots of energy and interesting ideas. We look forward to being part of the process and seeing the results. This year's theme asks the question: What happens when we design for peace, quiet and reflection? Participants will create products to help us land - inspired by the forest, silence and leftover materials.
The focus is on waste materials from the wood industry, residual streams given new life and old methods in new hands.
With the support of eXpression's coaches and experts, participants will go through the entire journey: from idea generation to prototyping, from sketch to sales-ready concept. All with sustainability, creativity and entrepreneurship as a compass.
Summer eXpression is organised together with Swedish Form, with the support of The family Kamprad's foundation and European regional development fund.
