Turborilla wins cultural and creative business of the year award

During the Umeå Gala on 23 March, the gaming company Turborilla was named cultural and creative company of the year - in strong competition with Facit Bar and Mat & Event Umeå. The prize is awarded by eXpression Umeå and Umeå Creative Industry Association.

I'm so incredibly proud of my colleagues who have made sure we've won this award and that we're trying to lead the way in the games industry," says Mr Perez. Therese Hiltunen from Turborilla.

Turborilla is the second winner of the Cultural and Creative Enterprise of the Year. The first time the prize was awarded, Random Bastards/Storspoven won.

The winner's justification:

"The company has gone from being an underdog to establishing itself as a global player in its niche. By involving users in the design process, the company's products have become a natural part of the lives of many action sports enthusiasts around the world. With a dedicated CEO at the helm, the company is actively working to promote Umeå and northern Sweden as an important hub for game development, while also driving the process for a more equal industry."
