Finger Nail Tea Games is taking players back to the happy days of the eighties and nineties with Frog, a retro-styled platformer featuring an anxious, adorable frog as the main character. After a successful pitch to the game accelerator Global Top Round (GTR), they have gathered valuable insights for the future.
It's incredible how fast everything has gone. If we only go back a year and see the steps we've taken, it's clear that we're proud. Of course, there's still a lot to do, but it's an incredible journey we're on," he says, Stefan Johansson which together with David Svensson Driver Finger Nail Tea Games.
Frog is not only a game with a nostalgic vibe, but it also has a deeper story.
"The idea behind Frog is that it's something cute and anxious," explains Mr Mason. Stefan. It is not a power animal, but a bit more vulnerable. You should sympathise with the lonely frog. The game begins with an enigmatic and somewhat frightening event that draws the player into a mysterious and scary story.
During Arctic Game Dev Umeå, David and Stefan had the opportunity to pitch for the Global Top Round (GTR). This gave them valuable insights and the opportunity to focus on the core of the game.
We had to boil down what is most central to the game idea. This has been incredibly useful. Every time we present to potential investors and publishers, it makes both us and the game better," he says. Stefan.
With the presentation, David and Stefan have received confirmation that there is potential in the game and various partners have also shown interest.
So what's next for the Finger Nail Tea Games? They continue to improve both the presentation material and the game with the hope of meeting the right publishers or investors. The ambition is to get further support both in terms of capital and expertise to drive the Frog project forward.
