Designtorget and eXpression Umeå support young designers

Designtorget and eXpression Umeå support young designers

For the third year, the marketplace Designtorget and eXpression Umeå are extending their collaboration that enables young designers to realise ideas and introduce themselves to a market. Participants in Summer eXpression will have the opportunity to sell their products through Designtorget's channels this autumn and along the way share expertise and experience.

We aim to make a difference for Swedish design and to be a lever for young designers by being an active and committed part of the development of design in Sweden. That's why the collaboration with eXpression Umeå feels like a natural fit for us. Now we are looking forward to the autumn launch of the students' products," says Malin Wåhlström, Head of Purchasing Designtorget.

Designtorget is a digital and physical marketplace that sells and markets carefully selected products to people who appreciate unique design and value quality. Like eXpression Umeå, they have a clear strategy to highlight young designers, which is the basis of the collaboration.

Designtorget is a valued partner. That we have the opportunity to giving young designers exposure and expertise is incredibly valuable. An important part of our mission is to give visibility to talent from our region and support them in their journey to develop their business and market power. The collaboration with Designtorget gives us a natural platform for this work," says Barbro Renkel, CEO of eXpression Umeå, which is also responsible for the summer programme.

In the autumn, the participants in the Summer eXpression programme will present their products - developed in close cooperation with local manufacturers in Västerbotten. They will then be available for sale in one of Designtorget's stores in Stockholm and through their digital channels.
