Book release for the entrepreneurial duo - more launches to come

On Wednesday evening, a book launch was held at Sliperiet for Sisters in Law and the book Gift - Skapa your unique wedding.

It feels great to finally have the finished book in our hands," say Kristina Grahn and Zanna Metzer, the entrepreneurs behind Sisters in Law.

On Wednesday 6 December, entrepreneurial duo Kristina Grahn and Zanna Metzer released their wedding book, Married. In addition to the book, they both run the company Sisters in Law and the newly opened Butik Ellen Marie on Sveagatan in Umeå. The business includes e-commerce, a blog and clothing and sewing design.

- It feels great that the book is now out! We are so happy and proud of the work we have done over the past year together with everyone involved, says Kristina Grahn and Zanna Metzer.

For the book - which is about wedding fashion, sustainability and making your own mark - they have been inspired by the natural experiences, materials and crafts of the West of Sweden, among other things.

- We live in a fantastic landscape and we want to promote it," says Zanna Metzer.

Creative collaborations have been key, and the book features artist Sofia Jannok and Umeå-based Rivia Sports, among others. And collaboration is something that characterises Sisters in Law and is constantly emerging and bubbling among the entrepreneurs in the Uminova eXpression incubator.

- There are so many great companies and people out there, and if you can work together in a way that makes everyone involved grow, it's a win-win. We have had full confidence in our partners, in their knowledge and their capabilities. We've also tried to promote that," say Kristina Grahn and Zanna Metzer.

2017 has been a busy year for the two entrepreneurs who previously ran their own businesses. Kristina Grahn's company has been part of Uminova eXpression and Zanna Metzer has previously been at BIC Factory.

We are very proud of the journey that Sisters in Law has made. As an entrepreneur, you can achieve so many good things together with others, and talented collaborations are a golden example of this," says Marlene Johansson, CEO of Uminova eXpression.

Now the two entrepreneurs have joined forces in a joint venture and have big plans for the new year.

- We are so looking forward to 2018! We will be attending Formex and the wedding fair Bröllopsfeber. Then we'll also be launching our own bridal collection and magazine as a further extension of the blog. Our goal is to turn over one million SEK in 2018, so we have something to work towards there, says Kristina Grahn and Zanna Metzer.

Gift is published by the Umeå-based publisher - and eXpression alumni - North Chapter.
The book has also been made into a film by Hartafilm, a film company owned by eXpression.
