In cooperation with UMEÅ FASHION WEEK organizes Uminova eXpression an inspirational lecture with Lotta Ahlvar
Creativity and sustainability
We buy and throw away more and more textiles in Sweden. Every year, Swedes throw 8 kilos in the garbage and we consume 40% more clothes than just ten years ago. But the future lies in recycled materials and new smart fabrics.
The textile industry is rediscovering materials such as viscose, while the forest industries are struggling with a tough paper market. Rubbish and waste are being reused, mixed up and turned into something new. Creative innovators are upcycling materials and products like never before. How about a dress made from milk?
The lecture will be held in Studio Hållbart in the heart of the Utopia gallery, on 28 September at 12-13.
The lecture is free of charge. Limited number of places.
We have reserved 25 places for students who are interested in attending the lecture. If interested, please register HERE First come, first served. The lecture is free of charge.
