Fashion designer from Umeå participates in national boot camp

Mirja Rosendahl, who runs the clothing brand Myren, has been accepted to the NEST bootcamp in Borås Textile Fashion Center during the days 14-15 March. NEST aims to challenge the clothing industry with innovative solutions and Mirja is one of the participants who will take part in workshops, lectures and networking to continue to develop her business model and contribute to a more sustainable industry.

It feels great! NEST's work is completely in line with my company's values and way of working, so I look forward to taking part in their lectures and workshops," says Mr Kane. Mirja Rosendahl.

Mirja Rosendahl has chosen to move back to Umeå after 17 years in London. She has a long experience of working with some of the biggest couture brands in the world. In the newly created brand Myren the focus is on sustainability and care:

I am currently working on a collection created from recycled textiles. With the help of NEST, I want to find new approaches to circular fashion and sustainability, as well as make contacts and get help to develop my business idea.

For the third year in a row, the NEST catapult programme will give entrepreneurs the chance to participate in boot camps, business development labs and networking. The programme ends with a pitch final where the sharpest ideas can participate with the chance to win a SEK 75,000 scholarship from TEKO, and are offered a unique opportunity to continue to be supported by the organisers, their network and not least funding of up to SEK 300,000.

We are delighted to welcome Mirja Rosendahl to this year's NEST bootcamp. Her background in couture and her commitment to sustainability reflect exactly the kind of innovation and drive we want to see in the participants. By bringing together entrepreneurs such as Mirja with leading experts and visionaries in the textile industry, we hope to create a breeding ground for real change," says Ms Rosendahl. Per Vågebrant, business coach at eXpression and NEST.

During the bootcamp, accepted companies listen to inspiring speakers and participate in workshops on themes that are important for building a sustainable growth company. There is a strong emphasis on networking with other participants, partners, industry and organisers. On Thursday evening, a curated dinner will be organised for NEST participants and invited guests from the textile and fashion industry.

NEST stands for New entrepreneurship for a sustainable textile industry. Behind the initiative are the incubators Borås INK, eXpression Umeå, Sting and xPlot. The Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova, the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås and the industry organisation Teko, Södra and OnceMore, Gina Tricot and Kappahl are also participating.
