Here are the companies in the new Creatives

It is now clear which companies will be involved when the new version of eXpressions' incubator programme Creatives kicks off on 8 February. Check out the list of the 16 companies that will embark on a joint journey towards sustainable entrepreneurship in 2023.
- The competition for places has been fierce," says Annakarin Nyberg.

There were several interesting companies lined up when applications for the new version of the Creatives incubator programme opened. A business development programme that has been given a major update - not least based on the experience gained from three years of the Future Retail Lab accelerator.

- It's a really good mix of different types of entrepreneurs that we'll have with us next year. And we know from experience that heterogeneity is important. Because it's at the intersection of different perspectives, experiences and skills that the unexpected happens. It's clearly going to be an exciting year. Annakarin Nyberg, which together with Anna Wikholm Kjellberg is responsible for Creatives.

The programme is aimed at entrepreneurs who have a developable product, tested against an intended target group and market - in the cultural and creative industries. Participants are part of the eXpressions community and environment, which includes office space, two makerspaces and networking opportunities.

In establishing the new programme, lessons have been learned from the Future Retail Lab, the accelerator programme that was run at eXpression Umeå for three years between 2019 and 2022.

Cultural and creative industries

The cultural and creative industries are a broad and heterogeneous sector, with businesses ranging from architecture, design, fashion, performing arts and games, to name but a few. Basically, they are businesses that use or build on artistic and cultural processes, at the core of their business idea or as a raw material.
