The students' questions became the visual identity of the exhibition.

Today sees the opening of the "UMA 2023 End of Year Exhibition" - an exhibition by students at the Umeå School of Architecture. Behind the visual identity is the company Studio Sirka, run by artist and graphic designer Gustav Skoogh.

It was an honour to get the assignment! My idea is that the identity should serve as an entry point and create curiosity. It's so boring to just read "final exhibition", you've read it a hundred times. It became interesting when we chose to use the students' questions as a supporting element and let the exhibition itself stand in the background," he says. Gustav Skoogh.

The work has been done in close co-operation with the School of Architecture's exhibition team and has a clear DIY spirit. They print their own prints and all materials (such as street talkers, etc.) have been built in the school's workshop.

We have also worked with a pink paper that is usually used as drawing paper on a roll. Traditionally, it is intended for colour-coded electrical drawings. The pink colour is a load-bearing element that stands out, says Gustav.

The exhibition's graphic identity can be seen around the city. To find out more about the exhibition, visit the School of Architecture website.
