UMEÅ REALLY HAS CO-CREATION IN ITS SOUL

UMEÅ REALLY HAS CO-CREATION IN ITS SOUL

Design by Umeå held the Cities, Design & Innovation conference at the same time as the Umeå School of Design held its annual event UID Design Talks and Degree Show. To kick off the week, an inspiring and creative gala dinner - Future Food - was held at RISE. Ahead of the dinner at RISE, a group of 6 & 7 year olds in Umeå scouted the future of food with Anna Parry, founder of Proto Proto, using Kulturverket's concept "Children tell the professionals what to do". After the children created the basis for the evening's menu, it was up to Gotthard's head chef, and TV chef Anders Samuelsson, to interpret the children's ideas and turn them into a gourmet dinner. Co-creation at its best. The result was a lovely buffet consisting of, among other things, shadow lime, leaf mash and edible maraccas. Watch the video below to see how it was made.
