On 23 November, the sixth edition of Young Startup Day was held to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs and to recognise those who have gone before. The winners were 84 Grams from Umeå and Lash Lift Skellefteå.
The digital event was broadcast from Länsresidenset in Umeå and the County Governor herself, Helene Hellmark Knutsson, welcomed everyone with a speech. The broadcast was also attended by the former UF company Lash Lift Skellefteå, filmmaker and photographer Stoffe Pettersson, and H&M's CEO Helena Helmersson from Stockholm.
The digital event was followed by a networking lunch at the County Hall where Emil Westrin and Navid Haghjo from 84 Grams received the Young Startup Award, sponsored by the company Presto headed by Gustav Paringer - who is also behind the Young Startup Day initiative. Malinda Larsson and Celina Lindgren (seen in the picture at the top) who runs Lash Lift Skellefteå received the Roland Carlsson Scholarship.
Of course it's great to be recognised in this way! To wake up every day and work on something we are passionate about and do it with Norrland as a starting point, is something we hope will inspire and motivate other young entrepreneurs, says Navid Haghjo, CEO of 84 Grams.
