NEST podcast live 2/2: Future Retail - Meeting places that matter

NEST podcast live 2/2: Future Retail - Meeting places that matter

On Thursday 2 February, the NEST podcast will be broadcast live from the Utopia district in Umeå, at 13:00-13:45. We will talk about challenges and synergies for a sustainable "fygital" trade where innovation is needed as an enabler.

The spread of digitalisation is changing behavioural patterns and business models. Not only do physical retailers and stores need to go digital, but digital retailers also need to rethink the way they interact with customers in the physical world. How does this affect the collection and retail spaces?

Participating in the conversation are:

Mona Liden - Centre Manager Utopia Quarter, Baltic Group

Mona is a centre manager with a long history in retail, which has given her good insight into consumer behaviour and trends in retail. She is passionate about branding, location and urban development issues and is heavily involved in the hospitality company Visit Umeå with several board memberships.

Anna Flatholm - city architect, Umeå Municipality

Anna is a landscape and urban architect in Umeå. Before that she worked as the city's urban gardener (2010-2017) and as project manager at Gator och Parker (2017-2022). Her focus in all these roles has been the development of public space.

Emelie Aktanius - architect and designer, ELAK

Emelie runs ELAK (Ett litet Arkitektkontor) which deals with both product design and architecture. She has a master's degree in architecture from Umeå University, where she also works as a visiting lecturer. Emelie is passionate about communicating and promoting presence through her work.

Simon Nordberg - CEO, Childrenshouse.se

Simon is the founder and operator of the Childrenshouse.se brand with stores and online retail. He has extensive experience in the retail industry, both as a supplier and retailer. The company is currently developing a new web platform while working on the new physical store concept to be launched in spring 2023.

The moderator is Simon Hjelte, programme manager for NEST and business developer at Borås INK.
