Are you active in the cultural and creative industries and want to take your design, idea or business to the next level? Do you want to contribute to places where people can live, meet and thrive? Design Workshops is a free programme organised for the second year in a row. During the four sessions of the programme, we combine design processes, inspiring lectures, workshops and site-based work where your perspectives and experiences are at the centre.
The programme is carried out in both Vännäs and Robertsfors with some joint sessions in Umeå, and is based on creative methods for designing inclusive, sustainable and vibrant environments.
Meetings and themes:
- Introduction & site visit: Planning for happiness, wellbeing and inclusion
- Movement, community and trust: How site features support people's everyday lives
- Build for and with nature: Design for all the senses
- Presentation & shared learning: Showcase your concept ideas and get feedback from experts and co-creators
Led by experts in design and place-making, the programme gives you the tools to skills development and business development. You get the opportunity to build your network and make your work visible in your portfolio.
Completion of the programme qualifies for certification under the European Lifelong Learning Framework.
Who can apply?
The programme is for artists, designers, architects, filmmakers, musicians, game developers and other creators - whether you run a business or develop ideas.
And the best part? It is completely free of charge, with coffee and lunch included!
