congratulations on your nomination jessica!
Umeå has many entrepreneurs working in the creative industries and Jessica Eriksson, who has been nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Uminova eXpression, believes that collaborations with others are part of the success.
Why do you think you have been nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year at this year's Umeågala?
-Thanks, I think it's my joy for creating things and involving other people in what I create.
What do you think the nomination/win could mean for your business in the near and longer term?
-I hope it will shed light on my creativity and that more people will discover me. Hopefully it can lead to future jobs and opportunities where I can use my creative power.
How has Umeå as a city and the cooperation with other creative companies here from Umeå influenced you and your business?
- Oh I love collaborations! First and foremost, it means development. I learn a lot from working with other people. I love it when two different forces come together, the fervour that arises is so wonderful, it's a great inspiration and trigger.
Tell me, do you have anything exciting coming up?
-I'm working on my own project called Byråhundar. I'm working with a girl called Jenny Theolin. She takes pictures of agency dogs around Sweden and I paint them. It will result in a joint exhibition in the spring. Then there are lots of exciting things waiting to be started but I can't tell you about them now, I'll have to come back to that.
The Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award is presented by the Umeågalan organising group at the Umeågalan on 9 November and the nominating organisations are Uminova Innovation and Uminova eXpression and BIC Factory. The prize goes to a young entrepreneur who has innovation, sense of the market and creates customer value.
We at eXpression wish you good luck!
