Products 2021/2022

FALL GREEN / Anna Öquist Brännström

The mountain green consists of a drinking glass, pitcher and tray/dish. The series is inspired by the summers' hikes along the slopes of the Vindelfjällen mountains. It is intended to convey great craftsmanship with a simple aesthetic that is sustainable over time. The different pieces in the Fjällgröna series can be used together or separately - beautiful objects to use in everyday life. The glass was developed in collaboration with glassblower Eva Juneblad.

PRODUCER: Anna Öquist Brännström & Eva Juneblad
MATERIAL: Clay and glass

Anna is a potter and gardener. She constantly strives to find a balance between form and function. Expression is simple and decoration sparse.

TIMeLESS / Anna Sehlin

With the Timeless candlestick, I want to enhance the cosiness factor and the feel-good experience where the home becomes a place for recovery, rest and where well-being is the main focus. For me it has always been natural to use nature and be inspired by the natural. I am also inspired by different styles and beautiful shapes in all their simplicity, an expression that you never get tired of. Rich and harmonious interior design that can live through all trends has always interested me. Hence my choice of a simple and timeless design.

PRODUCER: AH Wood Products
MATERIAL: Plywood, Pigmented lacquer

Anna runs a company since 2018 with a a passionate interest in interior design and the visual. She is a trained visual merchandiser/communicator and interior designer/stylist.

Loppan / Elin Molander

With this lamp I want to create a feeling of nostalgia that wants to encourage the inner child in you. The inspiration of the lamp comes from the shape of a paper rag that was folded in the schoolyard when you were a child. When you fold the rag you find eight tabs inside each hiding a message where you could get answers to everything from how many laps around the schoolyard you would run to the big answers to questions about your future.

PRODUCER: 4Sign
MATERIAL: Cut and folded polypropylene

Elin is a trained industrial designer and has taken the step to start her own business in connection with eXpression design. In her company she creates and designs interior products and sells services in design, product development and visualisation.

Tallstig / Emelie Almgren

The pattern "Tallstig" takes me back to my childhood summers at my grandmother and grandfather's cottage in Anundsjö, Ångermanland. The smell, the peace and the warmth I felt when I ran barefoot on the pine path between the big cottage and down to the river for a swim. Through the pattern, I wanted to highlight my heritage but above all the village's female craft tradition by embroidering the pine branches using the technique known as Anundsjösöm.

PRODUCER: Frösö Handtryck and Kasam Studio
MATERIAL: Linen

Emelie has taken the creative name of Aunt Emelie after her relative "Aunt Manda". She creates to feel good, have joy and recovery. Inspiration comes from nature and playfulness.

Avan / Katarina Paulsson

With the Avan pot, I wanted to bring the solidity and robustness of cast iron into something modern, yet with a design that doesn't go out of style. A stylish design but without being boring. I am very fond of paper and wood and started the process by playing with paper. The pattern on the pot is taken straight from my interest in woodworking and carving.

PRODUCER: Norrlandsgjuteriet
MATERIAL: 100% recycled cast iron

Katarina is a garden designer, designer and craftswoman who is passionate about aesthetics, nature and meeting places. In her design language, she wants to spread inspiration and give people places and things to marvel at, relax in and enjoy.

Näsåker / Markus Larsson

The material for the Näsåker lampshade consists of a sheet of metal that has been exposed to the elements for many years. The round shape symbolises the sheet's cycle, for it was once new and fulfilled its function in a barn outside Näsåker, Ångermanland. Now the same sheet metal has been transformed into a lampshade with a unique pattern. My hope is that the lampshade will remind us all that there is always something beautiful in things that are allowed to age.

PRODUCER: Aluspec, Johanssons Plåt, Hamek AB
MATERIAL: Sheet metal

Marcus has always been a creative person, a jack-of-all-trades who likes to try different things. From creating music to creating in the snow. Now the sketchbook is on the table more and more often, and it has become both song lyrics and sketches.

Pestle / Pernilla Tjärnström

Pestle is a hanger on which you can hang your bag, jacket or dressing gown. Or why not just let it be a sculpture on the wall! Art and function can of course go hand in hand.
The pestle is made of pine which gives a beautiful grain and is for me the natural choice of wood. It can be coloured to match your home if desired.

PRODUCER: Pernilla Tjärnström and Puuts Interiör AB
MATERIAL: Wood, pine

Pernilla has always created and has sculpture close to her heart. She has always lived close to the forest and since childhood she has been picking stones, carving wood and looking for small animals. Which should be visible in her creations.

Green Iron / Stina Carlson

The inspiration for the table comes from a small green pond deep in the forests of northern Sweden, a place my grandfather named Gröntjärn. The glass symbolises the soft shapes of the mirror-clear pond and the bones have been patterned by nature itself. Each table is therefore unique.

PRODUCER: Skogsmästargården, Nätraälven and 3L Glas och Bygg
MATERIAL: Pine and glass

Stina works as a preschool teacher but has a strong desire to be even more creative at work. With furniture design and entrepreneurship in her blood, she wants to turn her furniture sketches into reality. I get my inspiration from the northern nature and my experiences in it.

Vilja / Stina Wallin

Vilja is inspired by the sea and its vegetation. The sheer seaweed, barely visible in nature, has a place here, along with the brilliant torch flowers that grow in our northern coastal region. What they have in common is their strength and willingness to grow and thrive in miserable conditions, hence the name Vilja. A butterfly symbolises all the insects that are attracted to these plants near the sea.

PRODUCER: Stina Wallin and Eva Juneblad
MATERIAL: Metal and glass

The garden decorations and plant supports of the Norrträdgården were born out of the desire to create, explore and dream. All products are made by me. Unique products - only in one or a few copies.

eXpression Design

Through the county-wide programme eXpression Design, 41 companies in the creative industries have taken their product idea from sketch to reality with local manufacturing over the past three years, and some thirty local manufacturers have been involved in producing the products.

The programme is a successful collaboration between the incubator eXpression Umeå and the creative industry network High Coast Creative.

A breaking of the mould that shows you can work with design, no matter where you live.
