Sara Sandström, former board member and now part of the eXpression Industry Council, has been awarded the honourable title of Honorary Doctor of Umeå University. With an impressive commitment to spreading contemporary art both locally and globally, she has made a real impact.
As Executive Director of the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation and with a background as a gallery owner, Sara has contributed greatly to the Faculty of Humanities' work in arts and cultural entrepreneurship. Her innovative and passionate work has been recognised by colleagues and the art world. She has worked hard to make art accessible and engaging to a wide audience, both in Umeå and internationally.
The award recognises Sara's significant achievements and her ability to inspire others in the arts. She has also been a driving force in developing cultural projects and collaborations that strengthen the arts scene at large.
