You can now apply for Prototype Week 2026 – explore the future of mobility in the green transition

We are looking for students or young creatives who want to tackle one of the most tangible challenges of the green transition: How can new mobility solutions make the industrial areas of the future more accessible, sustainable and integrated with city life?

The issue of mobility is key to ensuring that the green transition is truly sustainable. We hope that Prototype Week can contribute to concrete ideas that can actually become a reality. Solutions that make it easier for people to get around such a large area, whilst at the same time integrating the site better with the surrounding city, says Fanny Lindén, business coach at eXpression Umeå.

Over seven days in August, you will work in cross-disciplinary teams to explore and prototype mobility solutions for the Umeå Eco Industrial Park (Dåva). The results will be presented to partners and the public at the end of the week.

The solutions developed should:

  • Explore how we can get around in the industrial areas of the future in a sustainable and safe way
  • To be accessible and improve the quality of life for commuters and residents in the region
  • Has the potential to become a reality within 2–5 years

Prototype Week 2026 is being organised in collaboration with Umeå Municipality and Umeå Eco Industrial Park (Dåva)
