Products from the Uminova eXpression student project Summer eXpression will participate and be displayed at several exhibitions during the year. The first stop is Stockholm and Formex.
- Formex is a fantastic forum for our students to participate in and a confirmation for them to see their design in this context, says Barbro Renkel, business coach at Uminova eXpression.
In the summer of 2017, during the Summer eXpression project, ten selected students had the opportunity to take their design ideas from sketch to finished product. The products were showcased at a vernissage at Konstnärligt Campus in Umeå in the autumn and now the journey is down to Stockholm and Formex.
- Formex is Sweden's largest interior design fair and a great opportunity for our students and partners to showcase their joint creations, says Barbro Renkel.
During the first day of the fair, 17 January, Uminova eXpression will also organise an exclusive meeting for invited guests together with the municipality of Umeå.
- Design from our region has been praised all over the world, yet many people are unaware of Umeå's strengths in this area. That's why we're taking this opportunity to showcase design from across Umeå and showcase the creativity and innovation that exists here," says Anna Olofsson, marketing manager at Umeå Municipality.
The Summer eXpression products, made by local producers such as GH Snickeri, LöbeGranit and Norrlandsgjuteri, along with other designs from the region, will be included in more exhibitions throughout the year. Which ones Barbro Renkel does not want to reveal yet.
It's a very exciting year ahead of us, I can tell you that much. And this summer, it's time again for Summer eXpression and a new batch of students to have the opportunity to turn their design ideas into reality.
