The art of sustainability in a changing world

Karin Hägglund is one of Sweden's most accomplished karate practitioners and is used to handling and benefiting from all the emotions that arise during periods of hard training, tough competitions and in the decisive moments in life.

Karin lectures on how you can learn to face your emotions and find your inner drive to become sustainable through life. We are all equipped to experience a variety of emotions, states of mind and emotional responses. In a world where we are constantly expected to perform, despite increasingly tough competition, we need the tools to manage our experiences, both positive and negative, to be sustainable on life's rollercoaster ride.

Karin has a background as an elite athlete and national team coach in karate and as a process leader in health promotion work. In recent years, she has worked in a research project on sustainable leadership. At the same time, she has taken the step of becoming a lecturer and debuted as the author of the book "How Death Separated Us. The nightmare of mid-life cancer."

In the lecture, Karin draws on research and also shares her own experiences and the challenges she has faced in life.

The main keys of the lecture are:

  • active decisions based on their own values about what is really important
  • facing and managing emotions on life's rollercoaster
  • self-compassion; treating ourselves as our best friend and how it increases our inner sustainability and motivation.

The lecture will be given digitally via link.
