Kaaos Kaamos gets 1.2 million for new show

The Umeå-based circus group Kaaos Kaamos has been granted about 1.2 million by Nordic Culture Point and the Swedish Arts Council to develop a new modern performance. The aim is to start touring in Sweden and northern Finland from spring 2022.

We are extremely excited and proud of the opportunity to realise our vision of an interactive new circus experience in a modern circus tent. With this positive announcement, we now have both the time and the space to use the tricky times we are in to develop something innovative. The hope is to start the tour with the new show in spring 2022," says Erik Glas from Kaaos Kaamos.

In total, the funds granted amount to almost SEK 1.2 million. The largest grant comes from the Nordic Culture Point's "Culture and Arts Programme", which gives the circus society 100,000 euros, supplemented by a further 150,000 SEK from the Swedish Arts Council.
