Music release! First single for debut album

Umeå singer and songwriter Hanna Ögren now releases the first single 'Take Me to Paisley' from the debut album of the same name, under the stage name Hanna Ogren. The song is a tribute to the American artist Prince and the community that has emerged since the artist's death - Purple Family.

New song, wow what fun! Tell me about the song.
The song, like the album itself, is called Take Me to Paisley and is a tribute to Prince and the community around him, the Purple Family.

What inspired you to write the song?
Well, that's Prince then 🙂 The song is based on my experiences and impressions I had when I visited Prince's studio and home Paisley Park in April 2018.

What was the process of writing?
Some of the lyrics were written when I visited Paisley Park, some of the chorus I came up with in the car on the way from my airbnb to Paisley Park and the other part "I close my eyes and all I see is purple" when I was standing in the shower at home in Umeå. I closed my eyes for a while and everything turned purple. Then there is a musician and producer in Detroit, USA who has played and produced the music itself.

We know that the song, and by extension the album, is funded via a crowdfunding campaign. Will backers of the project receive any additional material other than the amazing music?
Yes, in the crowdfunding they could order t-shirts and handwritten texts etc.

What is the plan now?
Now the plan is to get all the orders out to my crowdfunding backers. Then I'm also building a new webshop and website where you will be able to buy both music and merch. The plan is also to release the whole album and that will happen already next Friday, December 11.

The song is available to listen to here via Spotify.
