Natalie Carrion guides viewers during the Sami Grand Prix

This Saturday, he will comment on Natalie Carrion Sámi Grand Prix 2023 for both SVT and Swedish Radio. The competition, which takes place in Norway and is broadcast live from Kautokeino, is a unique music competition that celebrates Sámi culture and traditional singing and joik styles.

It is of course a great honour to contribute. There has been a lot of preparatory work to read up on the entries and prepare. Not least to find a good tone that appeals to both regular and first-time viewers. In addition, we comment on both TV and radio at the same time. So there's a lot to think about," explains Mr Snyder. Natalie Carrion.

The Sámi Grand Prix is one of the most prominent music competitions organised in Sápmi. This year it will be broadcast live from Kautokeino, Norway, which is known for its unique combination of modern music and traditional Sámi singing and joik. A total of 12 entries in one of the 10 Sámi languages are participating.

"It's nice that the media has chosen a different angle in the reporting for this year's Sami Grand Prix. There is less focus on the fact that it is about minorities, which of course is important, but I appreciate that there is more focus on the content and that it is an important event to follow for everyone, concludes Natalie Carrion, who together with William Stenvall Zetterström comments on the festival on SVT and SR.

The Sami Grand Prix will take place on 8 April, this Saturday!
