In September 2019, eXpression Umeå's accelerator program Future Retail Lab starts. The programme is an initiative at the eXpression Umeå incubator, which creates conditions for entrepreneurship in creative and cultural industries. In the Future Retail Lab, we tackle issues of future sustainable retail and we do so together with new entrepreneurs and existing owner-operated companies.
Companies in Umeå and the Umeå region now have the opportunity to apply for the pilot round of the programme. Once the pilot has been completed, admission will open up for national admission, and in conjunction with this, the structure will also be adapted to enable companies from all over Sweden to participate.
The ten companies offered the opportunity to participate in the accelerator programme pilot will attend five to six tailor-made workshops with selected experts over six months. Participants will actively work on their own business development, develop their business models, and exchange experiences and knowledge with each other.
The accelerator programme has been received with great interest and it is exciting to be able to offer entrepreneurs in the Umeå region priority to participate during the autumn pilot. For our participants, it will require a significant investment in terms of time, courage and a willingness to explore new opportunities, says Annakarin Nyberg, programme manager at Future Retail Lab.
The Future Retail Lab programme is a joint venture with the Swedish Retail Federation via the Swedish Merchants' Association Foundation and is also part-financed by EU structural funds. From 10 April, companies can apply to participate in the programme via eXpression.se.
