Popular Umeå artist releases new music

Musician and entrepreneur Magda Andersson will release the single "Det som tar oss genom natten (Till Christina) on Friday - a pop comfort song written in the isolation of the pandemic.
- It's about longing for other people and feeling like a dot in an infinite universe," says the artist.

Magda Andersson has many strings to her bow. During the pandemic, she has had time to start a new label (Ogräs Streamingstudios, together with Jonas Nimrodsson), plan this summer's edition of "Barefoot Sessions" and work with the pirate band she fronts. And now, current with new music, the single "What takes us through the night (To Christina)".

- I'd say it's in the more fluffy direction. It's supposed to reflect the sense of unreality that surrounds you when you're isolated during a pandemic. A snapshot. Maybe that's why it's more cosmic and existential. 'It's been liberating to allow yourself to explore some unknown territory,' says Magda.

Magda describes the song as a poppy ballad that will hopefully provide some comfort. The lyrics have been bandied about more than usual with friends and the music has been worked out in the studio with Joel Löfwenius and Anders Nyberg

What's new is that she acted as both studio technician and producer during filming. Mix and master have however been entrusted to Second Home in Umeå with Henrik Oja in the lead.

On Friday 21 May, "What Takes Us Through the Night (To Christina)" will be available to stream on most music services.

Psst! Already on June 18, release two, "Summer cottage is burning". Then it will be a bit more dramatic...
