Summer eXpression - From sketch to sale in seven weeks

On Monday 14 February, eXpression Umeå opened up the application for this year's Summer eXpression. The programme is aimed at design and architecture students who want to test their idea and go from sketch to finished product in seven weeks.

eXpression Umeå has opened up for applications to Summer eXpression, the summer programme that runs for seven weeks. As in previous years, the accepted students will, together with local manufacturers and design experts, develop everyday objects from sketches and prototypes to small-scale production.

This is a chance to test your creative process and develop your entrepreneurship with experienced tutors. The goal is that by the end of the summer, students will have gained new tools and experience, but most importantly, they will have moved from idea to finished product! says Fanny Lindén, responsible for Summer eXpression.

The programme is aimed at students in aesthetic education who want to broaden their portfolio and learn more about everything from entrepreneurship, design and packaging to pricing and production.

The programme accepts ten participants who are selected by a jury of eXpressions business coaches and external industry experts.

Summer eXpression has been the beginning of many design and architecture students' success stories and I'm really looking forward to being part of that journey," says Fanny Lindén.

Summer eXpression ends with a vernissage where the students get the chance to show and sell their products.

Participation in Summer eXpression is free of charge and the deadline to apply to the programme is 13 March.
